When the inhabitants of hell enter hellfire, they will cry and beg to be released. The angels guarding the gates of hellfire will ignore every single cry, because they had their chance in this worldly life. Allah informed them about Jannah and Jahannum, and that our actions on this earth will have great rewards or grave consequences. Allah gave them chance after chance, yet they wasted it away.
Allah said, “He is the (all) Provider” but they chose to indulge in haraam earnings. He said, “Allah will destroy interest” but they chose to indulge in interest dealings. He said, “Do not spread mischief on Earth”, but they chose to spread mischief. He said, “O you who believer, obey Allah” but they chose to disobey Him. He said, “Repent, I will forgive you” but they chose to repeat their sins instead of repenting from their sins. He said, “Turn to me” but they chose to turn away. He said, “Fear hellfire whose fuel is men and stones” but they chose to live fearlessly. He said, “Take heed, O people of vision” but they chose to be heedless. After spending a lifetime ignoring Allah’s guidance and warnings, eventually, they will be ignored. Which is unsurprising as Allah said, “That [punishment] is for that [i.e. the unrighteous deeds] which your hands have put forth. Certainly, Allah is never unjust to [His] servants!”
That person could be us. How you respond to the call of Allah today, will shape how He responds to your call tomorrow on the Day of Judgement, when there will be no help except His! With every choice you take and every move you make, you are shaping your destiny. Thus, live wisely within the boundaries of Shari’ah. For eventually on the day of Judgement, everyone will believe in Allah and cry before Allah but by then, it would be too late. Therefore, make a change now. Otherwise, that person could be you.
May Allah protect us, Aameen.
