Muawiyah (RA): The forgotten Hero, Part 5/9: The hypocrisy of the Shias, who commemorate the martyrdom of Hussain (RA) but not Hassan (RA)

Hassan (RA) willingly passed khilafah to Muawiyah (RA), which highlights the double standards and hypocrisy of the Shias. Both Hassan (RA) and Hussain (RA) were the noble grandchildren of Nabi ﷺ. Shias mourn and commemorate the demise of Hussain (RA) every year. This is because it suits their agenda which is to show the world that only they support the Ahlul Bayt, while the rest do not. This could not be further from the truth. Most certainly, his martyrdom was a saddening occasion. However, his brother, Hassan (RA), was also martyred through poisoning. This is also regarded as martyrdom. Yet the Shias never speak about it let alone commemorate it annually. This is because if they were to do so, it would highlight that Hassan (RA) was a champion for making peace between the Ahlul Bayt and the whole Ummah.

The Shias do not seek to unite the Ummah by showing how united the Sahaaba (RA) truly were, as displayed by Hassan (RA). They seek to divide and create animosity within the hearts of the believers. Thus, they conveniently omit his story, while lying about the martyrdom of Hussain (RA). Their practice of self-flagellation has no basis in Islam, nor was it ever practised by any Prophet or pious predecessor. The most loyal believer is the one who follows in the footsteps of the Prophets. To innovate this practise and deem it religious, speaks volumes about how baseless their claims are. Only those who educate themselves will truly understand this.
